I recently went to Chicago for the first time with my husband and a good friend.
My husband and I have been trying to have children for 5 years, without any success (see our story here). We decided to travel as much as we can and enjoy our “we can do whatever we want” season of life.
During these 5 years we have gone snowboarding in Utah, got our nerd on in Washington DC, faced the Green Monster in Fenway Park, searched for the Lock Ness monster in Scotland, explored Machu Picchu in Peru, and most recently traveled to Chicago. We had a blast in this fun city.
Here were my favorite moments (and recommendations for future visitors):
1. Go to a Cubs game at Wrigley Field.
2. Eat a Chicago-style hot dog
3. Meet Jim Gaffigan
(Okay, he isn’t always in Chicago. But it worked out really well for us)
4. Eat deep dish pizza from Gino’s East. (also, try Piece Brewery and Pizzeria)
5. Visit Skydeck Chicago
6. Take a segway tour of the city.
We did lots more and there was even more we didn’t have time to get to. But hey, that just means that we’ll have to go back!
Here’s to wanderlust! Cheers!
