While all of her teenage friends were busy reading “Cosmopolitan”, Susan
devoured “Bon Appetit” and “Gourmet” magazines, cover to cover.
No—her mom was not a gourmet cook, and she did not come from a restaurant family, but cooking has always been in her soul. After graduating from the Culinary Institute of America in 1987 she worked for several years as a chef in fine dining restaurants, private clubs and catering. She then decided to shift gears by attending The Southeast Center for Photographic Studies, so that she could follow her dream to become a food photographer. Her business, Visual Cuisines, has been established for almost 2 decades.
Susan is now reliving her original dream to become a food editor, and is so excited to have been asked to blog her favorite recipes and share her years of culinary expertise from the perspective of a working mom.
Her style of cooking leans heavily on fresh, ethnic, and easy, but must always meet the criteria of delicious!
