It’s that time of year again where it’s time to celebrate one of the most important people in our lives – our mom’s! Every mom is a little different so here’s a quick gift guide that will hopefully give you some ideas of how to show her the love this year!
If you have a mom that can’t put down her iPhone, why not get her a brand new iPhone 4/4s or 5 case from Rifle Paper Company? Rifle has just released 10 brand new designs for the iPhone 5 and four of the styles are also available for the iPhone 4 /4s. Order them online, or, if you’re in the Orlando area, stop by Rifle’s charming storefront in Winter Park, FL.
The “Sentimental Mom:”
Mother’s often take any and every opportunity to talk about their children (young or old!). Here are a couple of ideas of how to give your sentimental mom more opportunities to talk about how much she loves her family to her friends.
I stumbled across these beautiful handmade necklaces and absolutely loved them! The beauty of these is that you actually send in a photo of the person’s profile that you want on the necklace, and they create a custom image of that person’s profile that is then used on the jewelry! I think this would be an excellent gift for any mom – a young mom all the way to a great grandmother. What a beautiful way to show off your lovely family!
Another great idea for your sentimental mom is to purchase a family photo shoot! A picture is worth a thousand words – so say, “I love you, Mom,” 1,000 times with this mother’s day gift and she’ll be able to decorate her home with these photos and look at them for years to come.
You can go the route of a Mother/Daughter photo shoot that’s fun and shows off the dynamic in your relationship:
Or try this: our fellow Lovely contributor, Joy, gifts family pictures for her mom every year to document their growing family. Below are pictures from 2009, 2011, and 2012.
The “Traditional Mom:”
If you have a mom that loves being celebrated in the traditional way, you can’t go wrong with flowers! Why not go to your local farmers market the day before Mother’s Day and arrange a special bouquet for your mom this year? Don’t worry about making it too perfect – she will love the fact you did it yourself more than anything!
The “Hard-Working Mom:”
This isn’t to say ALL moms aren’t hard working, but if you have a mom that is always “go go go,” then it’s time to make her relax! Why not treat her to a spa day? You could go with her and spend some quality time together or if your mom feels more loved by acts of service instead of quality time, why not clean the house for her while she gets a pedicure?
The “Active Mom:”
If you have a mom that loves fitness, why not sign the two of you up for a 5k or give her a class card for her favorite fitness class? If you live in the Orlando area, consider taking your active mom to Northwest Dance Studio’s Pilates / Aerial Class and give her the best core workout she’s had in a long time!
I hope this sparked something in your mind that you can do for your mom this Sunday for Mother’s Day! Share here what you did to make the moms in your life feel special this year!
