The Surprising Power of A Natural Look

If you haven’t already tried the no-makeup look, spring is the perfect time for it. I mean seriously, who has time to deal with all that makeup when the weather is so warm and fabulous, right? Natural looks are all about embracing your natural beauty and shine. Also, they let our skin breathe and rest from all those heavy makeup products we are constantly torturing it with. With all that being said, here is how to pull off the natural look the best way possible.

Face

Before you even start applying makeup, you need to make sure your skin is super fresh.  Wash, tone and moisturize your face. Also, don’t forget to drink plenty of water – it is not just beneficial for your skin, but for your body as well. When you are not drinking a sufficient amount of water, your skin looks and feels dry.

Bonus last minute tip: never skip sunscreen. Choose an oil-free sunscreen with at least SPF 30.

Now, the makeup. Instead of applying a heavy foundation, use some tinted moisturizer or BB cream as a base. Also, make sure you are applying it with your fingers instead of a makeup sponge, because it will look much more natural.

After that, use a concealer and a small concealer brush to cover up your blemishes, and use your ring finger to conceal your under eye area. Set it all with a light powder which will prevent creasing.

Next step is giving your cheeks a natural flush. You will do this by using a cream blush in a pink shade. Gently pat it with your fingers and make sure its edges are thoroughly blended.

In the end, give yourself a tiny bit of glow with your favorite highlighter.

Eyebrows

Relax, they don’t have to be perfectly plucked or anything. You don’t even have to be an expert in drawing, because natural look is not about “eyebrows on fleek” movement.

Now, the key is in filling the gaps instead of drawing your eyebrows. The first step is combing your eyebrows with an eyebrow brush, the second is filling the bald spots and the third is securing everything in place with an eyebrow gel.

Eyes

When it comes to your eyes, use a neutral-colored eye shadow that will just give them some depth. The key is to make people notice your beautiful eyes, not your fabulous makeup. Opt for light shades of brown or beige eye shadows, depending on your complexion. Do a discreet smoky eye look and you’re good to go.

After you are done with eyeshadow, it is time for lashes. If you don’t like curling your lashes, or you just don’t have time for it, consider using fake lashes. I would personally recommend the amazing Ardell lashes because they are so lush, and yet so natural looking.

Lips

Lips are like the icing on the cake: the great finale. Opt for a moisturizing lip product that matches your lip color and complements your skin tone. But it is up to you whether you’ll opt for a matte or glossy one.

Hair

For this look, I would personally recommend  “Beachy waves.”  If you have naturally straight hair, just tie it in two loose braids and leave it overnight.

However, if you are not a fan of waves, or overall loose hair, then simply tie your hair in a “messy bun”. Whatever you opt for, the most important thing is that you feel beautiful and comfortable.

So what are you waiting for? Allow your appearance to reflect your inner beauty and let it shine through!
